Cartoons for training programmes: "Respect"
Client: Louw Redelinghuys (Sea Harvest)
More examples below.
Bellville, Cape Town cartoonist Konrad Rode often creates cartoons
for business communications needs*, book
covers and training programmes in the South
African fishing industry.
A loyal client of ours, Louw Redelinghuys (previously
of Marine Products / MarPro training
department), asked us in 1992 to draw them a series of cartoons
for use in their training programmes, and we've been doing it ever
since.
There is currently a (much needed) trend among corporations to
train workers to create a sense of pride and ownership in their
companies.
Because a substantial proportion of the population in South Africa
consists of illiterate workers, cartoons with their
attention-grabbing humour are an ideal tool.
In this cartoon we portrayed two (not humourless) serene-looking
Buddhist monks greeting each other to show respect as a value of the company.
Louw now offers his programmes to other companies.
You may phone him on +27 (0)83 303 9441 if you are
interested.
*That sounds sooo pretentious, doesn't
it? We couldn't resist using that, "communication needs".
We hate the pretense one finds so often on corporate websites, with
sound bites such as "our mission", or "corporate
values" etc.
